Home of “Madapow” — dry, consistent powder and the most tree-run courses in Japan.

Madarao Mountain Resort sits in the Madarao Kogen highlands of Nagano, close to the town of Iiyama, rising to the 1,382 m summit of Mt. Madarao. It is a powder specialist — with 32 courses, 10 lifts and around 60% of the terrain left ungroomed, there’s a real chance of fluffy, deep “Madapow” on any given day.
Madarao is famous for having some of the most tree-run courses in Japan, alongside groomed runs, a Free Ride Park, a dedicated Kid’s Park and playful wave courses — so it genuinely suits everyone, from first-time children to advanced tree skiers. The resort even hosted Japan’s first Freestyle Skiing Competition.
